Summer is here and everyone wants that sun-kissed look. Unfortunately, sun exposure leads to sun damage and aging skin. There are many options available today to get that glowing look without the damage. There are spray tans, self-tanning lotions, and bronzers. Bronzers can be tricky, so let’s look at how to apply them properly. 
First, a bronzer isn’t a self-tanner. You’re not trying to change your skin color, just give it a subtle glow. Look for a bronzer without too much orange or red. Bronzer duos or quads come with a mix of shades and highlighters for a natural look. Jane Iredale has several products that give a sun-kissed, natural look. So Bronze 1 has a beautiful terra-cotta color mixed with golden mica flecks. So Bronze 1 and 2 have a bronzer color with a highlighter color. Jane Iredale’s Sunbeam has 4 colors and highlighters to blend, highlight or contour. Moonbeam is also a bronzer quad with cooler colors.
Instead of using a big, fluffy brush to apply, choose a fan brush. This will give you more control over where color is deposited. Make sure skin is dry before applying so color doesn’t clump up. You only want to apply bronzer where the sun would naturally hit your face. Dust on forehead, nose, cheekbones, and chin. Make sure you brush across décolletage so you’re not two-toned. Blend with a makeup sponge.
