Chocoholicks Lip Balm
Winter can take the lusciousness from our lips. Cold weather and indoor heating combine to take a toll on our mouth. This is the season for dry, cracked, sensitive lips.
To combat all the drying effects of winter, you need to take extra care of this delicate area. The first step is to exfoliate the dry, dead skin away. There are exfoliators made just for the lips. Rub the product gently across your lips and then follow with a washcloth or soft toothbrush to get rid of all the dry skin flakes.
Now you need to put moisture back in. It’s important to look for natural ingredients in a lip product. After all, we all lick our lips and we don’t want to be ingesting chemicals! You want to avoid products with synthetic fragrances, dyes, or chemical preservatives. Look for natural hydrators like macademia nut oil, sunflower oil or shea butter.
Hyaluronic acid will actually attract moisture from the air to keep your lips moisturized all day. Antioxidants like Vitamin C and E will protect lips from damage due to the sun or pollution. Peptides and natural ingredients like ginger will plump up your lips.
You can also use your lip balm during the day and at night. Switch to an old favorite - Vaseline. Put Vaseline on your lips just before going to bed and you’ll wake up with smoother, softer lips. During the day, use a product that contains SPF. Lips can be damaged by the sun, too. The lipstick you use should also contain moisturizing ingredients. Putting a gloss on top will help seal in moisture and protect your lips even further.
So don’t let your pout dry out, put the moisture back in and get the lips that make a man’s head turn.
